Shading for clinical environments, engineered around safety
Infection control, ligature risk and patient recovery come first; the blinds and curtains follow. We manufacture, install and maintain window shading for healthcare estates — carefully, quietly, and to the standards your compliance team will ask about.
We work with estates and facilities teams, infection prevention and control leads, and the contractors who serve them — across private hospitals, mental health and SEN settings, care homes, clinics and consulting rooms.
Infection control
Disposable antimicrobial curtains, on a schedule you never have to think about
Cubicle and privacy curtains are an infection-control consumable, not a furnishing. We supply antimicrobial disposable curtains and — more importantly — run the replacement programme for you.
- Antimicrobial protection and flame-retardant fabric, with pre-fitted date labels and hold-backs so every curtain shows when it went up and when it's due out.
- Scheduled changeovers — we plan replacement rounds to your infection-control policy, arrive on the agreed date, and swap every curtain without disrupting the ward.
- 100% recyclable disposable curtains, quick to fit and consistent across an entire estate.
- One supplier, every site — portfolio-wide consistency for groups and FM providers, with records of what was changed and when.
Ligature risk
Anti-ligature systems that fail safely, because that's the whole point
In mental health and SEN environments, anything fixed to a wall is a risk assessment. Our anti-ligature blinds and tracks are held by magnetic load-release brackets: under excess pressure, the head rail or track separates from its mounting — leaving no remaining point of ligature.
Anti-ligature roller blinds
Load-release brackets with no accessible cords or chains where the risk assessment requires it.
Anti-ligature vertical blinds
Wand, chain or crank operated, specified to match each room's level of supervision.
Anti-ligature curtain tracks
Heavy-duty, light-duty, divider and shower tracks — all with the same load-release behaviour.
Anti-ligature cubicle & shower curtains
Curtains engineered to release, for bathing and privacy areas in higher-risk settings.
We survey each room with the care team's risk assessment in hand, because the right system depends on who uses the room and how it's supervised. It's the difference between fitting a product and understanding psychiatric and SEN safety requirements.
Recovery environments
Blackout where darkness is clinical, not cosmetic
Recovery wards, sleep units, neonatal care and imaging suites need genuine, measured darkness. We've manufactured and installed 100% blackout systems for demanding rooms for decades — including spaces where the architecture couldn't be touched.
- Cassetted and side-channelled blackout rollers that seal light at the edges, not just the middle of the window.
- Blackout curtains and linings manufactured in our own workshop for irregular openings and heritage rooms.
- Motorised control where staff need one-touch darkness — locally switched or integrated with the building's systems.
Specification
Fabrics your compliance file can rely on
Everything we specify for clinical environments uses flame-retardant contract fabrics and is engineered to withstand clinical cleaning regimes. Fabric and fire-performance data is available for every product we quote — ask and it arrives with the specification, not after it.
Flame-retardant as standard
Contract-grade fabrics selected for fire performance, with documentation supplied per range.
Survives the cleaning regime
Wipeable, washable systems specified to cope with the disinfectants your cleaning contract actually uses.
Repairable, not disposable
Because we manufacture in-house, damaged blinds get repaired or re-covered fast — often without replacing the system.
How we work
Installed around care, not in the way of it
Fifty years of commercial installation shows most in occupied buildings. In clinical settings that means: scheduled around ward routines, quiet methodical work, dust sheets and clean-as-we-go, and installers who understand they are guests in a care environment. And they are our installers — the same firm that made the blinds fits them; we never subcontract installation.
“Very professional, super-efficient, respectful to our staff and office and their tidiness was exceptional.”
